ng-conf 2015 Keynote 2 - Misko Hevery and Rado Kirov
Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when explaining why Angular 2 uses [] for property binding and () for event binding, since the framework's creator explains the reasoning directly.

The best resource I've seen for this is Miško Hevery's ng-conf 2015 talk: [this video] Slides for the talk: [LINK] Miško is the creator of Angular. In brief (very brief, you really should watch this video for a great overview of Angular 2 concepts, especially if you have an Angular 1 background): the newer syntax is less ambiguous, hence editors can now perform static syntax checking DOM property binding is, in many ways, better than HTML attribute binding (the brackets signify property binding) event binding now uses parenthesis, rather than requiring special ng-* directives for each type of event

@JoeEnzminger, this usage of `"&"` notation has always felt weird to me, but I couldn't quite place my finger on it, until I heard Misko explaining it better [this video] . The difference is symantic - of statements vs. expressions - and although in this case the user (not the author) of the directive is led to believe that he is using an expression and all will be fine, this is what has always bugged me about this approach. I still agree that it is superior to avoid a watcher, but it is symantically awkward

There are various point to decided () for events () parenthesis for event make sense because Angular 2 replace almost (20) event A1 directive via single syntactical sugar. You can also have any customEvent name inside parenthesis (myCustomEvent)="myHandler($event)" ( $event is event object). By having () in the HTML considered to be valid HTML. Side Note As like () parenthesis replaces several A1 20 directives by single () parenthesis syntactical sugar likewise [] property binding also replaces 16 angular directives. Awesome Misko's Video [this video] explaining why he had decided () for event & [] for property binding.
