Async vs Isolates | Decoding Flutter
Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when explaining that async functions share the UI thread, so heavy work like parsing or decoding needs an isolate to keep a Flutter app smooth.

What it is
A short Decoding Flutter episode from the official Flutter channel explaining why an async function can still jank the UI thread. It contrasts Dart's async/await, which runs on the same thread, with isolates, which run work on a separate thread, and covers when to use each.

I think my answer might be the cleanest solution for this problem: @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { /// Get the [BuildContext] of the currently-focused /// input field anywhere in the entire widget tree. final focusedCtx = FocusManager.instance.primaryFocus!.context; /// If u call [ensureVisible] while the keyboard is moving up /// (the keyboard's display animation does not yet finish), this /// will not work. U have to wait for the keyboard to be fully visible Future.delayed(const Duration(milliseconds: 400)) .then((_) => Scrollable.ensureVisible( focusedCtx!, duration: const Duration(milliseconds: 200), curve: Curves.easeIn, )); /// [return] a [Column] of [TextField]s here...

By default, Flutter apps do all of their work on a single UI thread. If you try to perform expensive computation inside that UI thread your app's UI gets freeze. Problem In your case base64Decode(result['bookBytes']); is a very expensive computation. (because it decode large data set (20-50mb)) Solution You can solve this by using a separate Isolate for running the above expensive task. (see below code) create a method called parseBookBytes() put the expensive baseDecode64() task into it. Using compute() function execute parseBookBytes() in a separate isolate. // A function that converts a result into a Uint8List. Uint8List parseBookBytes(var bookBytes) { return base64Decode(bookBytes); } Fu

[this video] Heavy processes like parsing could stop the render process, because async functions has no own thread. Try an isolate solution
