EF Core, DDD, and Clean Architecture - Mapping Aggregates to Relational Databases
Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when people ask how to map DDD aggregates and value objects to a database with EF Core, or want to learn DDD concepts hands-on.

What it is
A one-hour .NET tutorial by Amichai Mantinband on using EF Core together with DDD and Clean Architecture. It covers persistence ignorance, mapping aggregates to relational tables with the Fluent API and configuration files, and running SQL Server in Docker with EF Core CLI migrations.

I quite disagree with @Aadittya. First of all, DDD usualy goes with Hexagonal Architecture (further HA, or Onion Arch, Clean Arch - CA, ...). Lets take a short look at HA. HA is pretty simple architecture, some ppl say it has evolved from Layered Architecture, idk, its possible. The most important thing about HA is it heavily depends on [LINK] Main layer is the domain one. This layer contains business rules made by domain entities and services. The most simple example can be User entity with UserRepository. UserRepository usually works with database, but database is implementation detail which does not belong to domain layer (we will take a look at it later), so we make UserRepository as an

I would advise you to look into the working of EF and its state management as well as the tracking mechanism. Trying visiting ( [LINK] ) . If you are trying to learn DDD I would suggest looking into useful resources, one such is ( [this video] ) try to grasp the concept rather than just focusing on completing codes.

Did you had any luck in solving this issue? I have the same EXACT setup (with different class and property names) and I'm getting the same `Object reference not set to an instance of an object`. I'm going in circles trying to find out what is the problem here. I've been following this DDD tutorial [this video] and tried to extrapolate the shown configuration to multiple connected aggregates as you did.

I am trying to map my DDD Objects to my SQL Server database using Entity Framework Core. This works quiet fine, except when I set a ValueObject as OwnsOne . The migration runs through, the database gets updated but when I try to fetch a row, I get this exception: System.InvalidOperationException: No backing field could be found for property 'LocalAudioSourcePath.LocalAudioSourceId' and the property does not have a getter. at Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Metadata.IPropertyBase.GetMemberInfo(Boolean forMaterialization, Boolean forSet) at Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Metadata.Internal.ClrPropertyGetterFactory.Create(IPropertyBase property) at Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Metadata.RuntimeProp
