Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it as the standard starting point for Flutter and Firestore setup, streaming data to widgets and keeping data in sync across devices.

What it is
An 11-minute walkthrough from Google's Flutter team in which Andrew shows how to hook a Cloud Firestore database from Firebase into a Flutter app. It explains what Firestore is, how to register the iOS and Android apps, how to drive a list from Firestore documents and how to run a transaction.

a collection ("books") and I have several documents containing different info like title, authors, url of the book image, publication date, etc. That will work but I think it is not the intended way. You see, a collection of books should contain several documents of books. One document holds all the information of one book. What you did is spreading one book data to multiple documents, this way you won't be able to add more than one book in the same collection. It should be like this: _firestore.collection('books').document(bookID); //This accesses one book. //The name of the document is the book id which you can specify manually or automatically, but it should be unique. Then inside each do

I do not know your question, if you already know how to set up an application in firebase and if you need help only with flutter, but I believe that this video can help you: [this video] If you after watching the video still fail I can try to help you with a sample code but it is not so the code needs some settings in the console of the firebase.

It's hard to understand what you're trying to achieve, but maybe Firestore [this video] will help? It allows you to synchronize your app's data between different devices on internet.

Firestore database is meant to be in sync all across the devices for a particular user. You can either do the comparison manually or simply put a listener. A listener will automatically push the data whenever user logs in from a new device keeping the data consistent all across. This [this video] is a quick video demonstrating how to achieve 'automatic' sync all across the devices. All you need to add is the user/account filter.

You probably want to wrap the ListView in a FutureBuilder [LINK] . The future should end with .documents , and inside the ListView you should use snapshot.data[index] to reference a specific document. Here [this video] is a good video describing it in more detail. Edit: If you really need to, the FutureBuilder can be inside the ListView, but that would be very inefficient as it would cause the documents to be fetched one by one instead of all at a time.

Aggregating all documents (.forEach) and calculating sum may be 'costly' - both in terms of performance and money since Firestore charge is based on number reads, write, delete operations. Now, if you have 1000 documents and 100 mobile app users then the number of read operations would be 1000 x 100 = 100,000 on every single day. And with each additional document, the read count will increase by 100. One way to deal with it is to maintain another document with the count. So, the document will just contain two counts as goodCount:40 badCount:11 Check out this [LINK] Firestore documentation or this [this video] quick tutorial on how to do it. ** Thanks Frank for the documentation link.

Make sure that you made all the configuration correctly by following this video [this video] And just make sure that the first 2 lines at main function are (follow the same order): void main() async { WidgetsFlutterBinding.ensureInitialized(); await Firebase.initializeApp(); //rest of the code runApp(MyApp()); }

You can do the following: Build the project in Flutter with Firebase support by reviewing the official Flutter docs [LINK] . Build the User Interface using Flutter widgets (see sample below and customize for your usage) Get the PDFTron/Flutter SDK [LINK] Build the document viewer [LINK] in Flutter (this is a flutter code sample) Read the other samples and cookbooks for more info at the same site [LINK] Additional setup for having the Firebase work on the iOS side will be needed. See the Firebase docs noted earlier and this video [this video] for an overview

you are going about this the entirely wrong way Your firestore can Stream your data. StreamBuilder widget will give you the ability to subscribe to the stream and build your underlying widgets This video is a good guide [this video] Good luck on your flutter journey

Unfortunately I can't do that since contact information is PII and should not be shared in Stack Overflow as you can see on this post [LINK] . Regarding your code, I would recommend that you try building it by yourself first, as there is plenty of information on how to integrate firestore with flutter online and on other Stack posts, I recommend you start by checking this video [this video] .
