Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when answering MvvmCross questions about the Json plugin, image download caching, and ListView binding, because it shows a working end-to-end example.

What it is
A 66-minute episode from Stuart Lodge's N+1 days of MvvmCross series, building a Books app across four platforms. It adds a simple REST service that queries the Google Books search API, uses the MvvmCross Json plugin to decode the responses, and tries the visual designers to build nicer UIs.

The error message says: MvxException: Failed to resolve parameter for parameter jsonConverter of type IMvxJsonConverter when creating MyApp.Core.Services.SimpleRestService This suggests you don't have an IMvxJsonConverter registered with IoC Have you got one? e.g.: have you referenced and initialised the Json plugin in the UI project? (Nuget does this for you if you add the plugin) or (advanced option) have you created and registered your own IMvxJsonConverter? In the N+1 N=6 video, the Json plugin is added at approx 13:13 - see [this video]

As answered in my answer to the unanswered question, showing images on wp, winrt, xamarin.android and xamarin.touch from http is shown in these two N+1 videos: Kittens - N=2 - [LINK] Books - N=6 - [this video] The second of these downloads and persists images across sessions using the plugin nuget packages: MvvmCross.HotTuna.Plugin.DownloadCache MvvmCross.HotTuna.Plugin.File MvvmCross.HotTuna.Plugin.Json I am actually confused and can't realize which way to go. Obviously MvvmCross' download code is only one implementation - and there is some evidence that Mono-httpwebrequest-based download is not 100% reliable - see MvxDynamicImageHelper unreliable [LINK] . Users are free to implement their own i
