What it is
A 52-minute screencast from 2014 showing how to build a custom UITableViewCell in the storyboard using Swift on Xcode 6 Beta 3. It walks through wiring the cell to a class and implementing the table view datasource and delegate methods.

You should create your own UITableViewCell . Apple has a tutorial in their documentation how to do that [LINK] . It's written for Objective-c, but you can easily change it to swift. Also there are tutorials like this tutorial on YouTube [this video] . Basically, what you need to do is creating a UITableViewCell and use it instead of the normal UITableViewCell in the cellForRowAtIndexPath . After that, you can add whatever elements you'd like to have.

What you'll have to do is create a custom UITableViewCell class, where you can create an imageview and label and anything else. You should check this tutorial out: [this video] And when you've done this, you'll have access of every object in that cell through that class: func tableView(tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath) -> UITableViewCell { let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier("ProgramCell", forIndexPath: indexPath) as YourCustomTableViewCell cell.yourCellImage = cellContent[indexPath.row].yourImage return cell } Also dont forget to link the tableView outlet from the storyboard to this viewController and set the DataSource to self (inherits fro

If you are using a custom UITableViewCell , then you need to create a class for that custom cell (and connect the cell with the class in storyboard). This tutorial explains very well how custom cells work: LINK [this video] Note: Your problem is not with NSMutableArray , it's populating the custom cell.

You are welcome! I am not sure if you really have implement it in this way. Creating an array for each movie does not make much sence, as you could simply create one master array/dictionary/whatever for your table view. I advise you to check out this tutorial [this video] and this project [LINK] before staring to implement your table view.

This code has reportedly worked here [LINK] and here [this video] , but I can't seem to make it work. The IBOutlets are hooked up to their objects in the storyboard. The prototypeCell is named so I can use it with dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier and it's custom class attribute is set to commentCell . First Error (which I can solve, but neither of the links above needed it, which makes me think I'm doing something wrong. Am I right?): Overriding method with selector 'initWithStyle:reuseIdentifier:' has incompatible type '(UITableViewCellStyle, String) -> commentCell' Second Error (the interesting error): 'required' initializer 'init(coder:)' must be provided by subclass of 'UITableViewCell'` Cel

It is similar to objective-c code but lets start from here After you create your view controller, table view and search bar components, In ViewController class, you have to delegate items to ViewController like: tableView.delegate = self tableView.dataSource = self searchBar.delegate = self And then you have to implement(override) methods like func searchBar(searchBar: UISearchBar, textDidChange searchText: String) { filtered = data.filter({ (text) -> Bool in let tmp: NSString = text let range = tmp.rangeOfString(searchText, options: NSStringCompareOptions.CaseInsensitiveSearch) return range.location != NSNotFound }) if(filtered.count == 0){ searchActive = false; } else { searchActive = tr
