What it is
A one-hour keynote from DevCrowd 2014 in Stettin in which Java EE advocate Adam Bien shows how to start with Java EE, organize code with the Boundary-Control-Entity (BCE/ECB) pattern, and stay productive. Part of the talk is a live coding walkthrough of a small JAX-RS service.

For example you could use the Entity-Control-Boundary-Pattern. Your package structure will look like the following: Under the namespace of your application you could introduce a package called "business", in that package there can be packages named by the business responsibility and these packages are seperated into "entity", "control" and "boundary". com.example.myapplication.business.project.entity -> If you are using JPA all your entities can be stored in this package, contains DTOs com.example.myapplication.business.project.control -> In this package refactored services can be stored, for example if the DAO-Code is needed in more than just one boundary, the code could be refactored in th

The two are very similar. The main difference is that MVC is typically used in user interface design whereas ECB is most often used in business logic. Here's a portion of a presentation [this video] by Adam Bien, who is known for promoting ECB, that helped me understand the difference between the two.

Here is a discussion of ECB [this video] by Adam Bien, which includes the difference between MVC and ECB. Adam says that ECB is a "glorified MVC," and ECB is used more often in business logic whereas MVC is used more often in the user interface.

I'm building a sample client-server with JAX-RS using JEE7. I'm using Wildfly 10.1 I followed the guy in this [this video] video. Here is the code of the war that runs on the application server: boundary package contains the service package pl.devcrowd.virtual.business.chickens.boundary; import java.util.List; import javax.ejb.Stateless; import javax.inject.Inject; import pl.devcrowd.virtual.business.chickens.controls.ChickenStore; import pl.devcrowd.virtual.business.chickens.entity.Chicken; @Stateless public class ChickenService { @Inject ChickenStore cs; public List<Chicken> getAllChickens() { return this.cs.all(); } public void save(Chicken chicken) { this.cs.save(chicken); } } and the resourc

Sure, here [LINK] . DevCrowd is the server .war which is more or less created by following this [this video] tutorial on YT. RestTest is a super simple client which i chopped down from a more feature full example. I should mention that the problem appears to be with the client because if i do the GET request with the browser I get the correct list. I just never get a correct response from either POST or GET with Gluon Connect (though the POST does add the object properly). Thanks again!
