What it is

A short tutorial from the Chrome for Developers channel, part of a Progressive Web App training series, on getting a PWA onto a user's home screen. It covers the install flow, including deferring the beforeinstallprompt event so a site can show its own install prompt.

I don't have any PWA experience, but I found these two resources that may help. 1. window.addEventListener('appinstalled', function() { }); [LINK] window.addEventListener('appinstalled', function() { console.log('Thank you for installing our app!'); }); // or window.onappinstalled = function() { console.log('Thank you for installing our app!'); }; 2. this YouTube video [this video] I wanted to learn more about PWAs last week and stumbled across this youtube video. It has some good info. It talks about deferring the event object from 'beforeinstallprompt' so you can use it later in your own "Install" prompt.

We can do it according to this video [this video] However, when I browse the cnet.com website I don't see that popup. I also developed some code similar to this demo eg [LINK] but seems like it does not pop up on my iPhone X nor Android phones. So I may have to do something similar to the example from this link [LINK]

I feel really stupid for asking this, but I'm new to Angular and javascript in general, so I'm at at a loss here. My project runs fine (it's fairly simple) and made all the changes for it to be a PWA (and it is), but there's a thing I can't get my head around. My problem, is that my app doesn't seem to trigger the beforeinstallprompt action. I've run lighthouse and my app is totally installable and pwa ready(https, service worker, manifest, etc), but I can't trace why this event is not being triggered (the console shows nothing). Actually, the problem is larger, since I cannot for the life of me understand how can I actually built a custom, say, button for installing the pwa. I've read this

First, project and system information simple-pwa [LINK] an mre. Final-Year-Project [LINK] the actual project code. All code is for simple-pwa. All the problems faced in simple-pwa also applies to [Final-Year-Project ]. Project is done with Typescript, Svelte, SvelteKit and Vite. I am installing the PWA on my Android with Brave and Chrome. I'm on MacOS. Now, the problem I am facing. I am unable to install a PWA onto a mobile device. I have read here [LINK] that there are specific requirements and exceptions as to what devices can install a PWA, with that in mind I have decided to test on Chrome and Brave. The post also doesn't get proper resolution either. I have read in the PWA guide [LINK]
