The problem is that you are using a future, once it is complete there will be no updates, unless the Widget calling the getNotesFromDB() gets rebuild, which is the case when you restart the app or the emulator. Moreover, you are also only fetching the notes in initState() of your MainScreen. Option 1: Try turning your ListView.builder in the body into a streambuilder, which is refreshing your Screen whenever a new note is saved. Option 2: Alternatively, implement a pull-to-refresh logic, which calls getNotesFromDB() for you. Checkout this video [this video] from the FlutterTeam to implement the feature.

Yes of course. refresh indicator is a widget which allows the user to pull the content and given an option to call a method on refresh. setState is used to set the current state. Please check [this video] to know more about refresh indicator

If you want to implement swipe to refresh [LINK] kind of behaviour, you can use RefreshIndicator [LINK] . See the example and usage in this YouTube video [this video] . All you have to do is wrap your scrollable widget (it can be ListView or SingleChildScrollView ) in a RefreshIndicator and provide onRefresh method: class PullToRefresh extends StatelessWidget { const PullToRefresh({Key? key}) : super(key: key); @override Widget build(BuildContext context) { return RefreshIndicator( onRefresh: _refreshData, child: ListView.builder( // or SingleChildScrollView ... ), ); } Future<void> _refreshData() async { // load more items } }

Yes, with RefreshIndicator Widget, it's very simple, wrap the whole page in RefreshIndicator Widget, and just keep in mind that you should make the onRefresh function to return Future, because after getting the data, there is 2 things to be handled: the widget will handle the CircularProgressIndicator just after the onRefresh function gets the data, that is why I used await at the code example, to make the widget know when the function is finished. you should update the state, like this code, I'm using bloc to update it, you are free to use any stage management else: RefreshIndicator( onRefresh: () async { await _bloc.pull(); } child: ....., ); For more tutorial check this video [this video] .

To add specific actions to a ListView when the user drags to its start or end in Flutter, you can use the RefreshIndicator widget. The RefreshIndicator widget provides a pull-to-refresh behavior and can be customized to trigger specific actions when the user pulls the ListView to its start or end. Here is an example of how you can use the RefreshIndicator widget to add specific actions to a ListView: class MyListView extends StatefulWidget { @override _MyListViewState createState() => _MyListViewState(); } class _MyListViewState extends State<MyListView> { List<String> _items = List.generate(50, (index) => "Item $index"); Future<void> _refresh() async { // Perform specific action when ListVi
