As @Daniel Roseman points out in his comments, this has actually happened in the Children of Need special mini-episodes Space [LINK] and Time [this video] (contained on a Doctor Who DVD and confirmed to be "canon" by Moffet). In this episode, an emergency landing causes the TARDIS to materialize in the "nearest safe location", which happens to be inside the control room of the TARDIS. Several interesting things happen once this takes place: The doors to the TARDIS form a closed spatial loop. Anyone entering the doors of the "inner TARDIS" come through the doors of the "outer TARDIS" and vice versa. There does not appear to be any way to actually leave the TARDIS, nor for anything that's not alrea

Good ones! What about the other minisodes? Like the brilliant (and comedic) Clara and the Tardis [LINK] , Space [LINK] and Time [this video] . Sorry, as an American the difference between Children in Need and Red Nose day are difficult to ascertain.

In the BBC Children in Need special Space / Time [LINK] , the 11 th Doctor speaks to a version of himself from mere moments into his future. DOCTOR: I'm setting up a controlled temporal implosion. It's the only way to reset the TARDIS but unless I find exactly the right lever to control the implosion we're all gonna die. AMY: You don't know which lever? DOCTOR: No, but I'm about to find out. (A second Doctor steps into the TARDIS through the main doors) DOCTOR 2: The wibbley lever! DOCTOR: The wibbley lever. Thank you! (The original Doctor throws the wibbley lever and steps into the TARDIS parked in the control room which then dematerialises) You can watch both parts legally on YouTube, at l
