I was referring to this [this video] , to understand how to upload image using ImageField. He has explained how to use the instance.id while saving the image. I tried it, but instance.id is returning None . Whereas for him it worked perfectly. The following is the code: #models.py import os def get_image_path(instance, filename): return os.path.join(str(instance.id), filename) class AdProfile(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) profile_image = models.ImageField(upload_to=get_image_path, blank=True, null=True) Whenever the file is saved, its saving as None/filename . Even this link [LINK] informs the same. I am using Django 10.5 and MySQL database. What might be the problem?

I'm learning how to use ModelForms and I've successfully gotten the form to render, but the fields aren't showing up in the order that I'd like them to. I tried changing the order in forms.py and that had no effect. How can I go about changing the order; for instance, putting title at the top instead of the bottom and making the picture field second to last instead of second? models.py from django.db import models from django.contrib.auth.models import User # Create your models here. class Post(models.Model): title = models.CharField(max_length=150) price = models.CharField(max_length=100) body = models.TextField() pub_date = models.DateTimeField(null=True) author = models.ForeignKey(User, n

Solution to my post For handling files, I need to add encryption type to my form as enctype="multipart/form-data" Once I added that, to access the files I should use request.FILES along with request.POST So now I have this home function in views.py file def home(request): if request.method == 'POST': form = uploadForm(request.POST,request.FILES) if form.is_valid(): form.save() return HttpResponseRedirect('/') else: form = uploadForm() return render(request,'home.html',{'print':form}) and my template form looks like <form action="" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> {% csrf_token %} {{ print.as_p }} <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form> Credit : [this video]
