Sharing Lists and Libraries across SharePoint Sites
Why SharePoint Stack Exchange recommends it
SharePoint Stack Exchange users link it when someone wants to show one site's list or library on another site in the same collection without copying the data.

What it is
An 8-minute screencast showing how to use SharePoint Designer to display a list or library from one site on another site in the same site collection, keeping the original list views. It works by exporting the list web part and importing it elsewhere while retaining the link to the source. The presenter is the channel Apps To Oranges, and the video dates from 2013.

Given your current skill set, you are going to have a strong learning curve if you do this strictly using SharePoint. If you want to make your life easier, you might want to try and convince your company to invest in the LightningTools [LINK] Chart and Cross-Site Collection web parts ( here is a video demo [this video] ). I'm not affiliated and I've only tested them out and I'm not even completely sure that it would support a "mashup" style of app so my final option might be the best over all. You can also find a way to use something like the Data View web part [LINK] , to join the lists together. But there is also the option of using Excel and PowerPivot to build a mashup of the sites [LINK] . I

The Link: [this video] did answer this for me. The 8 minute video is called: Sharing Lists and Libraries across SharePoint Sites, Jeremy Morel via Ellucian. It explains how to export the list or library web part and retain the link to the original source. This is quick and easy to do. You need to use SharePoint Designer. The resulting list in the other site does not have all the issues that the List View Web Part has.

We have a list that we want to display on two different Sharepoint (SP2013) sites. In Sharepoint 2010 there were an option to share lists across sites through Sharepoint designer. [this video] Problem is that it seems that Microsoft has removed this option in Sharepoint 2013. Do anyone have any suggestions how to do this in the newer version? Thanks in advance!

I am trying to add an announcement section to every site/sub site in our site collection. It will be the same announcement page so everyone sees the same announcements. I can go to the site where I made the announcements (our home page) and edit page > insert web part and the announcement list is there, but when I go to a sub site or other site within the collection, it is not in the web parts. I can make web pages and all the home page web apps are there including my announcement list. I have exported the web part and imported it into the web parts gallery and it is there but it does not work. I have also used designer to do it (instructions at link). I am looking to display a list and libraries that are on a site from within the same site collection. In SharePoint On-Prem i could use something like Sharing Lists and Libraries across SharePoint Sites [this video] However, This does not work for online as I cannot display the page the same same. I did find another post that looks like it should work for me but the "Data View" button is grayed out in SPD. Displaying SharePoint Online lists to parent or sub-sites [LINK] Anyone have any method to do this? I would like it to be the actual list/library so we can add content from either site to that list/library. So content query/search web parts do not display the data in a way that I like. Thanks!

Suppose I have two sites (under the same site collection), first is ABC.sharepoint.com/teams/siteA and second is ABC.sharepoint.com/teams/siteB and I have document library with documents and its metadata in siteA. Now, I want to use document library of siteA to view metadata in document library web part of siteB page. I tried this [this video] but it didn't work. So, is there any way that I can access data of document library of siteA in siteB without copying into siteB. In the worst case I need to create document library(with views) and upload documents in siteB right?
