I was wondering when this would happen. YouTube Music sucks so bad. They mix in all of my liked videos w/ into my music. Just because I upvoted Baby Shark Dance [1] doesn't mean I want it in my effin' music rotation. Spotify is annoying because the radio stations are garbage & I can't (or haven't yet figured out how to) downvote music. [1] [this video]

Problem is horrible lags, and I mean just program working bad, not latency. I tried doing it with X11 now, and I gave up before I could even type "youtube" to address bar. Then I tried doing ssh -X remote firefox [this video] and it wasn't better. I saw the new firefox window, but it stayed unresponsive. And I bet part of the problem is due to Youtube (and browser generally) involving some non-trivial drawing technologies, rendering a video is not like showing a GTK interface.

Disney+ is for kids I’d say. The absolute wealth of that back catalog is insane. However they’re hard pressed at the bottom by YouTube two hour repeat videos of Baby Shark (the absolute most watched video in history - [this video] - 12 billion )

When you host videos with near 17 billion views you're going to want to stream those videos in as few bits as possible: [this video] That extra 25% becomes worth it. Nothing will become obsolete. AV1 will stick around for a long time. And YouTube still does H.264 encodes to support old devices.
