Why Stack Overflow recommends it

Stack Overflow users link it when a new programmer's question could be solved by stepping through the code in the Visual Studio debugger.

Recommended by 3 people across 3 different months, 2014 to 2017.

What it is

A short beginner tutorial from Utah State University's Bug Theater research project showing how to use the Visual Studio debugger. It covers stepping through code line by line and skipping to chosen points while the program runs, to help find bugs.

Do you realy want to use the textbox tbLosenord twice? sqlCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@anvandarnamn", tbLosenord.Text.Trim().ToString()); sqlCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@losenord", tbLosenord.Text.Trim().ToString()); For such problems I set a break point (click on the left side of your code editor window in Visual Studio) and use the debugger. The MSDN has many tutorials [LINK] on the debugger and you can find videos on [this video] to explain it in a more beginner friendly way.

I got that, that's what we have debuggers for ;-) If you are using visual studio (express), you should go through some tutorial, e.g. [this video] . I found that through google by looking for "visual studio debugging tutorial".

Use the debugger to see if `voornaam` and other variables in your method actually have data in them. Go here [this video] and watch the video to learn debugging. It is a very simple problem you are having and you will be able to figure it out with the debugger.
