I get this error when installing rmagick, I have followed all kind of guides and get the same error every time. This time I have followed this guide: [this video] : C:/Ruby192/bin/ruby.exe extconf.rb --with-opt-include=C:/ImageMagick/Sou rceCode --with-opt-lib=C:/ImageMagick checking for Ruby version >= 1.8.5... yes *** extconf.rb failed *** Could not create Makefile due to some reason, probably lack of necessary libraries and/or headers. Check the mkmf.log file for more details. You may need configuration options. Provided configuration options: --with-opt-dir --without-opt-dir --with-opt-include=${opt-dir}/include --with-opt-lib=${opt-dir}/lib --with-make-prog --without-make-prog --srcdir=. --c

I just downloaded ImageMagick but am not sure if it's working. I typed in 'which convert' into my terminal and nothing happened. I also tried typing in 'convert logo: logo.gif' then 'identify logo.gif' and lastly 'display logo.gif' and nothing seemed to happen (these three commands were specified on Windows). Then I tried following this video: [this video] However, it still didn't work and on the last step of the video. I got the following error: ERROR: While executing gem ... (OptionParser::InvalidOption) invalid option: ----with-opt-include=C:/ImageMagick/SourceCode Can anyone advise on how to correctly install imagemagick on windows or what these errors mean?

When I try gem install rmagick , I get many errors like undefined reference to `GetExceptionInfo' There are also undefined references to AverageImages DestroyConstitute GetExceptionInfo MapImage MapImages MedianFilterImage RadialBlurImage RadialBlurImageChannel RecolorImage ReduceNoiseImage These functions all appear to be in CORE_RL_magick_.lib but I can't find any combination of --with-opt-lib or --with-opt-dir or environment variables like LDFLAGS or CFLAGS or LIBRARY_PATH or LD_LIBRARY_PATH that allows "linking shared-object RMagick2.so" to succeed - or that make any difference at all. Where is this function defined? How can I bring it in to the link (ld) step? I'm running ImageMagick 6.
