In my examples I'm not manipulating files (: I'm adding placeholders and pushing variables to replace that placeholders. Like if it was with: `Twig` for php. Watch this crash course: [this video] he cowers all aspects in simple manner

I got it working by using expressJS from this tutorial [this video] which allows you to serve static files. JQuery works fine in node when doing it this way.

Express is simple. I mentioned in my other post not to use a framework, but express is a node framework for setting up a server and it will make your routing easier. I would recommend reading documentation here: [LINK] But if you want something straight forward, watch this: [LINK] or just watch this which is specifically for express: [this video] ejs (embedded javascript for server side rendering with parameters) is pretty simple. Learn that after everything else is done imho

to this question the answer simply cannot give like this... What I can do is to guide you to a proper way to learn this technology here [this video] you will see what is express and how to use it to configure a backed API.. here [LINK] you will learn further about this full stack and how it is falling with every technology perfectly.. this is a Brad traversy's tutorial.. Also I learned from him.. So give it a go I'm saying this with trust ... just look at my reputation .. that's proof how much 've learned from him .. cheers mate :)

Cites simmonson · 2017-09 · Stack Overflow · on “NodeJS - Trying to render index.ejs file, but still only servers index.html that is in my public folder”

The code below still serves the index.html page that's in the public folder, but I want to render index.ejs . I followed the video example so I'm not sure why he's able to render the ejs file whereas I'm still only seeing the index.html file. The video example I am using seems to be the same. My package.json file has "main": "app.js" . Here is the video example link, and code below: [this video] //View Engine app.set('view engine', 'ejs'); app.set('views', path.join(__dirname, 'views')); //Body Parser Middleware app.use(bodyParser.json()); app.use(bodyParser.urlencoded({extended : false})); //Set Static path app.use(express.static(path.join(__dirname, 'public'))); //Routes app.get('/', (req, res)
