The Genius of 3D Printed Rockets
Why Hacker News recommends it
Pointed to as a clear explainer of Relativity Space's fully 3D printed rocket approach when rocket manufacturing or additive manufacturing comes up.
What it is
A Veritasium video touring Relativity Space and explaining why 3D printing whole rockets cuts tooling costs, allows rapid iteration, reduces part count and enables new designs. It includes an interview with Scott Manley on aerospace engineering.

I think you should keep an eye out for Relativity Space, their rocket is soon to launch, and the whole thing is, and I am not exaggerating, fully 3d printed. It's a wonderful design and I hope it works, because it automates a great deal of the process. Veritasium did a video on their rocket: [this video]

Relativity Space ( [LINK] ) | All Positions | Full Time | Onsite & Remote (US Only) Relativity is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. Disrupting 60 years of aerospace, Relativity offers a radically simplified supply chain, building a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. Our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity's industrial base on Earth and on Mars. Our mission is to induce a paradigm shift in how rockets are built and flown. As an Engineer you be responsible for the design and implementation the core components of our robotic 3D printing capability, launch s

What part is not true? [this video] I'm sure that there are lots of problems with this approach, but it is not as obvious as your comment makes it out to be.
