What it is
A short 2015 tutorial by Amitav Roy on Laravel 5.1's task scheduler and Artisan commands. It shows how to define scheduled jobs in code and run them from a single cron entry instead of managing many separate crons on the server.

Scheduling will not call your API directly. the way is, when you create a scheduling command, then there you should Write your code which will trigger the API(using curl, file_get_contents or any suitable method), it will give you response and you can manipulate it according to your requirement. Once done, you have to simply execute the command in terminal or through cron settings, that command will trigger your code(API call which you wrote in command handle method) Follow below documentation, let me know if you have any difficulties in implementation [LINK] This is video tutorial, creation of scheduling command and accessing [this video]

you need to edit your `crontab` using command from cmd `crontab -e` then add this command `* * * * * php /path/to/artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1 ` also you can watch this video [this video] for full example with registering run as cron job

I is really simple and you do not need to stop server. It is just CRON job. Use Laravel Schedule. When using the scheduler, you only need to add the following Cron entry to your server. * * * * * php /path-to-your-project/artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1 Class example: namespace App\Console; use DB; use Illuminate\Console\Scheduling\Schedule; use Illuminate\Foundation\Console\Kernel as ConsoleKernel; class Kernel extends ConsoleKernel { /** * The Artisan commands provided by your application. * * @var array */ protected $commands = [ // ]; /** * Define the application's command schedule. * * @param \Illuminate\Console\Scheduling\Schedule $schedule * @return void */ protected function s

You need CRON JOB - Laravel Scheduler Class example: namespace App\Console; use DB; use Illuminate\Console\Scheduling\Schedule; use Illuminate\Foundation\Console\Kernel as ConsoleKernel; class Kernel extends ConsoleKernel { /** * The Artisan commands provided by your application. * * @var array */ protected $commands = [ // ]; /** * Define the application's command schedule. * * @param \Illuminate\Console\Scheduling\Schedule $schedule * @return void */ protected function schedule(Schedule $schedule) { $schedule->call(function () { DB::table('recent_users')->delete(); })->daily(); } } Then you need to switch on cron jobs on server: * * * * * php /path-to-your-project/artisan schedule:run >> /
