What it is

A Polyfjord tutorial on rendering Blender animations as OpenEXR sequences and playing them back in real time. It covers exporting EXR, importing into DaVinci Resolve, applying the Filmic view transform as a LUT, and using the open-source DJV viewer.

I'm experimenting with rendering my Blender animations as OpenEXR MultiLayer image sequences (this video piqued my interest: [this video] ). The problem is that I do my video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and Premiere imports the OpenEXR images as black frames; there's nothing I can do with them. Meanwhile, I installed an addon called "Exr-IO" which allows Adobe Photoshop to read these OpenEXR files, and it does an excellent job, so I'm reasonably confident that the OpenEXR files Blender rendered are fine. Unfortunately, I cannot find an addon that will allow Premiere to do the same. Anybody else have any luck with OpenEXR and Premiere Pro? or another video editor? Thanks. Blender 3.0, Premiere

@AlbertPerkins Things in Blender may have changed, but not much in PNG and EXR file types, and since your question seems to be more about using the renders in other software then Blender (as your edit suggests), there's not much to do about it in Blender anyway. I don't know if this tutorial by Polyfjord is of any use for you since it's not fire on transparent background, but at least there is explained how to get the _Filmic_ view transform from Blender into DaVinci Resolve. Maybe you can use it somewhere else as well: Real-time EXR Workflow [this video]

There's a lot of questions about this but they're really old and no one seems to mention the issue I'm running into. Here's a screenshot of this test scene I'm using to debug (Blender 4.0, using Filmic color transform, not Agx) [LINK] So I'm using the following nodes to composite glare and include the glare in the alpha. The viewer is showing the alpha to show it seems to be working [LINK] I'm exporting in EXR as explained here [LINK] and I'm bringing it into Davinci Resolve. And everything looks good. I'm adding the filmic transforms from this tutorial [this video] to get it looking closer to Blender. Not quite right, but I figure I can tweak the colors and such. [LINK] However, if I put a solid
