In my Ember app, I get a list of all the restaurants using an ajax call copied from Discourse co-founder's blog post [LINK] App.Restaurant.reopenClass({ findAll: function() { return $.getJSON("restaurants").then( function(response) { var links = Em.A(); response.restaurants.map(function (attrs) { links.pushObject(App.Restaurant.create(attrs)); }); return links; } ); }, I have a Restaurants route set up which calls the findAll shown above and renders it into the application template App.RestaurantsRoute = Ember.Route.extend({ model: function(params) { return(App.Restaurant.findAll(params)); }, renderTemplate: function() { this.render('restaurants', {into: 'application'}); } }); The restaurant

Is there any library that abstracts away the asynchronous behavior of XHR requests? Was watching the below video.(Ember.js intro). Would be great if I can just get the asynchronous abstraction feature alone from Ember's router class. Also, any direction on how this is done would also be great [this video] (around 23:00 mins), An example, var model=[]; var obj = { getModel: function(){ if(!model.length){ // sendRequest and store the response in model and // return it }else{ return model; } } } [LINK] So, in this example, obj.getModel() should get me the model, irrespective of whether it is served from server or not. Thanks!

I'm trying to pick up emberJS with the blog tutorial [this video] and ember-app-kit. What changes does EAK make that are preventing me from rendering things with handlebars? I didn't clear app.js like in the screencast. my app.js file import Resolver from 'resolver'; var App = Ember.Application.extend({ LOG_ACTIVE_GENERATION: true, LOG_MODULE_RESOLVER: true, LOG_TRANSITIONS: true, LOG_TRANSITIONS_INTERNAL: true, LOG_VIEW_LOOKUPS: true, modulePrefix: 'appkit', // TODO: loaded via config Resolver: Resolver['default'] }); Ember.RSVP.configure('onerror', function(error) { // ensure unhandled promises raise awareness. // may result in false negatives, but visibility is more important if (error instanc

I am getting started with EmberJS, followed the Screencast [this video] . I am trying to do the TODOs app without ember-data. Following is my HTML <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Ember.js • TodoMVC</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css"> </head> <body> <script type="text/x-handlebars" data-template-name="todos"> <section id="todoapp"> <header id="header"> <h1>todos</h1> {{input type="text" id="new-todo" placeholder="What needs to be done?" value=newTitle action="createTodo"}} </header> <section id="main"> <ul id="todo-list"> {{#each}} <li {{bind-attr class="isCompleted:completed"}}> <input type="checkbox" class="toggle"> <label>{{title}}</label><button cla

In a typical PHP, Python, Rails, etc., web app, like a blog or wiki, it is customary to use the templating language, not only for <body> elements but also <head> elements like, most obviously the <title> . For example, the blog main page may have the blog (site) name and a tagline in the <title> , while each post page has a post title followed by the site name. In some cases, you may also want to conditionally add or modify the content of <head> elements, such as a <meta> tag or a <link> to an Atom/RSS feed that you want to exclude from certain pages. From my research so far, most JavaScript SPA applications tend to be concerned only with <body> content (which unarguably is where the action

I thought about doing that, but as the model is always linked, I don't really see why it should be two seperate models. In this Ember tutorial video he also uses author.name [this video] - can't seem to find anything official in the documentation on this on the ember website.
