Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it

Blender Stack Exchange users link it as a worked example of mixing PBR materials with masks, and many askers cite it while following along and getting stuck on specific steps like shrink/fatten and boolean cuts.

What it is

A 25-minute Blender tutorial from Blender Guru that builds an old, abandoned post-apocalyptic house from scratch. It covers modelling with modifiers, building shaders that blend several PBR materials, and texture painting, using Poliigon textures.

I´m quite new to Blender and I wanted to follow the new abandoned house tutorial posted by Blender Guru on Youtube. At 2:34 he scales up the house using alt+s. But when I do it, the edges are creating some weird bulges instead of being straight like it's shown in the video. Only scaling (s) the mesh is not working because I need to scale it along the normals. [this video] [LINK] [LINK]

I was following Blender Guru's Abandoned House tutorial [this video] . At 2:45 of the video/ my project I had to shrink/fatten the house up because of some mesh problems as instructed in the video. I was doing that but the problem was that the house became bloated and bendy. how do i not get it to bend and bloat? [LINK] [LINK]

I was following Blender Guru's Abandoned House tutorial [this video] . At 2:45 of the video/ my project I had to shrink/fatten the house up because of some mesh problems as instructed in the video. I was doing that but the problem was that the wooden panels extrude out of the house...the Boolean modifier was already turned on before the shrink/fatten and it worked fine....but it doesnt work after the shrink/fatten...how do i get it to work ? Cites RowSalmon · 2022-03 · Blender Stack Exchange · on “How do you paint multiple different textures using the RGBA channels?”

This video by Blender Guru outlines that it is possible to paint separate textures on the base layer, red, green, blue and alpha channels. However, he does not cover how to do this in the video. [this video] How do I do this? Edit: Specifically, I want to know how the shaders are configured to allow me to paint like this [LINK]

One quick way to unwrap several objects is to select them and then use one of the UV unwrap methods that don't require seams, such as *Smart UV Project*. The result is a texture atlas for the objects, that is, no overlapping UV islands. For the textures, you can create/paint your own texture images or use PBR materials with mask images. Here is an example that shows the second approach: [this video]

Ok thanks, I was almost worried that it could be my Mac! But still (I don't want to be annoying I just don't get it) if you look at this video: [this video] he is seeing his texture in material preview. i did everything exactly as he did it, so why is he able to do that but I am not?

I'm following along in a BlenderGuru tutorial and have come across the part where you enlarge the base mesh of the house to chop off the excess clapboard sidings in nonessential areas. Though, when I scale the base house mesh along the normals it ends up not placing the sidings properly. Any advice? [this video] (issue at 2:20) [LINK] [LINK]

I have an object (cube) replicated by modifiers. Now I want to cut out a dedicated other object (cylinder) from it using a boolean modifier (inspired by [this video] ). Here is my attempt which shows no effect regarding the cutout. What am I missing here? [LINK]
