By default React.js uses client-side rendering, when you press the button -> the JS runs on the client and trigger the function. If you wish to run it on the server - you got 2 options really: 1) Use a server-side rendering platform; or 2) Activate a trigger that effect the server-side, such as fetching an API. The current behavior is totally normal, I would advice to leave it that way, And if you're interested - check this to learn about React SSR (Server Side Rendering): [this video]

I am creating a blogging application using React with Server Side Rendering functionality. I create the application using Create React App. I encounter an issue where my data coming from the server is rendered for a second then gone after react takes over the rendering process. I am using React Router Dom to pass the data from the server to the client react. Basically I am following this tutorial to create the application [this video] but the video is lacking some information like getting the data on the API. So I reference this repository for getting the data on the API [LINK] Base on resources I gathered I ended up the following codes. server.js import express from "express"; import fs from "fs

So, I've been following a YouTube tutorial on how to migrate React to SSR, since I want to get my app in Google's crawler. This is the tutorial: [this video] And this is the project: [LINK] The difference is I'm using npm and the tutorial dude is useing yarn. Not sure if that makes a difference due to my lack of knowledge on this topic. I setup the server.js and index.js (this is not yet commited to the github due to it not working), and upon running npm run ssr which is set to run node index.js I get the following error message: npm run ssr > client@0.1.0 ssr D:\Projects\Webpages\BoomMap\clientTest > node index.js D:\Projects\Webpages\BoomMap\clientTest\node_modules\reactstrap\es\Col.js:1 (funct

I currently have a website built using EJS and using express on the backend on port 3300 . The structure of the routes look like this: localhost:3300 -/movies -/rating -/review -/tvshows -/rating -/review I am currently returning EJS files in the routes like this: router.get("/:title/rating", function(req, res) { Movie.find({ movieName: req.params.title }) .exec(function(err, foundMovie) { if (err) { console.log(err); } else { console.log(foundMovie) res.render("movie/rating", { movie: foundMovie}); } }); }); But now, I want to add a new route in the structure that uses React such that the following will be built using React: localhost:3300 -/documentary -/rating -/review From my understandi
