What it is
A 22-minute tutorial from The Cherno, the first in his OpenGL series, showing how to set up GLFW, link it in Visual Studio, and open a basic window in C++. It is a hands-on screen-capture walkthrough aimed at beginners.

You need some sort of make system. A popular one is cmake. You'll probably find some good examples online with glew and glfw. Personally, I think that Visual Studio is better suited for C++ dev than Visual Studio Code. With Visual Studio, you don't need a make system like cmake (although I'd recommend something like Premake if you want to publish your project), but you still have to add glew and glfw to the additional include directories and link the static libraries. If you end up going for Visual Studio, this [this video] should help.

I'm trying to setup an OpenGL API from Scratch using C++ with g++ compiler. Currently I'm trying to get a simple windowing system using GLFW but when I compile the program it doesn't seem to find the GFLW directory. I'm trying to do this from the very scratch, so I'm not going to use any IDE like Visual Studio, everything I do is written with notepad++ and commands using git bash. I want to do it like this and I know this is a lot of extra work but this is what I want to achieve. My Project Folder Looks like this: -TestProject -main.cpp -GFLW -gflw3.h Inside my main.cpp file I've copy pasted the code from the GFLW documentation: #include <GLFW/glfw3.h> int main(void) { GLFWwindow* window; /*

I am setting up Visual Studio for C++ OpenGL. I tried following a tutorial on youtube ( [this video] ) but it still keep on getting this error: "cannot open source file "GLFW/glfw3.h" #include <GLFW/glfw3.h> int main() { GLFWwindow* window; /* Initialize the library */ if (!glfwInit()) return -1; /* Create a windowed mode window and its OpenGL context */ window = glfwCreateWindow(640, 480, "Hello World", NULL, NULL); if (!window) { glfwTerminate(); return -1; } /* Make the window's context current */ glfwMakeContextCurrent(window); /* Loop until the user closes the window */ while (!glfwWindowShouldClose(window)) { /* Render here */ glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); /* Swap front and back buffers */

I am trying to create a window, open it and be able to close it and the program should stop after I closed the window. The Code i wrote so far is mostly copied from this video: Setting Up OpenGL and creating a window [this video] Here is my code: Window.scala // The Window displaying the rendered image with openGL package Main import org.lwjgl.*; import org.lwjgl.glfw.*; import org.lwjgl.opengl.*; import org.lwjgl.system.*; import java.nio.*; import org.lwjgl.glfw.Callbacks.*; import org.lwjgl.glfw.GLFW.*; import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11.*; import org.lwjgl.system.MemoryStack.*; import org.lwjgl.system.MemoryUtil.*; class Window(width: Int, height: Int, name: CharSequence) { // Code from [LINK] GLFW
