What it is
A 2009 O'Reilly tutorial by Alasdair Allan, author of Learning iPhone Programming, that walks through building a 'WhereAmI' geolocation app using Core Location and MapKit. It is a short screen-based walkthrough of wiring a location manager into an iPhone map view.

I tried to make a goelocation to my iPhone app exactly as shown in this tutorials : [this video] my problem is when I build and go i see the map but the geolocation service didn't track my position, so I see just the global map :( Here is my code I hope you can help me to identifiy the problem : appdelegate.h @interface WhereAmIAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate,CLLocationManagerDelegate> { UIWindow *window; WhereAmIViewController *viewController; CLLocationManager *locationManager; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWindow *window; @property (nonatomic, retain) CLLocationManager *locationManager; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet WhereAmIViewController *viewController; ap

I have developed a simple program for current user location following this tutorial : [this video] However when I build and run, the map is shown but the cuppertino location (apple headquarters) is not located on the map. I heard that the problem may be that apple didn't recognize my wifi or something like that, is this possible, and if so, should I keep my code and suppose it to be true and so wait to test it on device later? Thanks in advance

Let me clarify my question ... As far as i understand userLocation seems to be nil on simulator anyway ... ok ... but second question is why CLLocationManagerDelegate method "didUpdateToLocation" is not called? I saw this tutorial and it should be called even on simulator ... So what am i doing wrong? [this video] Meanwhile i get such error in Log - "server did not accept client registration 68" Can this be the reason why location delegate is not called? UPDATE : I tried this on xCode 4.3 and it still does not work... At first call to userLocation it returns (0,0) at second - (-180,-180) Then i switched to IOS 5 SDK and now Map is not loading at all with error - __GEORegisterNetworkDefaults_block

Following this tutorial [this video] , I got to the end stages of coding the map app. when I got to type about viewControllers.mapView I got syntax error of: 'unknown receiver 'viewController'; did you mean 'UIViewController'?' I am running XCode version 4.4.1 I believe the tutorial to be using a previous version.
