Why Physics Stack Exchange recommends it

Physics Stack Exchange users link it as a quick visual explanation of general relativity and as a live demo of free fall and the equivalence principle, such as water not leaking from a falling bottle.

What it is

Physicist Brian Greene appears on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and explains general relativity in under eight minutes, using a water bottle and a disco ball for demonstrations. Highlights include a falling bottle with holes (the equivalence principle) and a visual picture of curved spacetime.

I personally prefer this visual explanation of Einstein's general theory of relativy from Brian Greene, a professor at Columbia University. [this video] A follow up video answering why don't planets fall toward the sun. [LINK]

I don't think this is correct: it isn't surface tension that causes the water to stop flowing, but -- as @DavidWhite points out -- the fact that there isn't a pressure drop across the holes. This can be seen using the Equivalence principle, here's a entertaining segment with Brian Greene [this video] on Colbert.

IcyOtter, I understand, but how can you explain the phenomenon in this video? [this video] How come the water does not spray out in free fall?
