What it is

A Brackeys Unity tutorial that walks through building an in-game pause menu with a UI canvas, an Escape-key toggle, and buttons to resume or return to the main menu. It builds on the channel's earlier start menu and settings menu videos and uses TextMesh Pro for the UI text.

I was following a tutorial from Brackeys on making a pause menu for my game [this video] However, when I click ESCAPE, it does open up the menu, however, I can’t click any of the buttons, they don’t work. Do I was wondering if someone could spot any kind of error in the script that I may have made that I've missed, or if you encountered that error before and managed to fix it. using System.Collections.Generic; using UnityEngine; public class PausedMenu : MonoBehaviour { public static bool GameIsPaused = false; public GameObject pauseMenuUI; // Update is called once per frame void Update() { if (Input.GetKeyDown(KeyCode.Escape)) { if (GameIsPaused) { Resume(); } else { Pause(); } } } public void R

I recommend making a UI rather than constantly switching between scenes. Loading large scenes in the future may take unnecessarily long time and this is a disadvantage in terms of optimization. Your data will be lost during transitions between scenes. For this reason, you can learn the Singleton Design Pattern logic as an alternative. This will allow you to create an indelible object in the transition between scenes. I'm new to unity. As far as i know i tried to answer. I hope I could be useful. Part of player code responsible for movement: public class birdScript : MonoBehaviour { public Rigidbody2D myRigidbody; public float flapStrength; void Update() { if (Input.GetKeyDown(KeyCode.Space)) { myRigidbody.velocity = Vector2.up * flapStrength; FindObjectOfType<AudioManager>().Play("jump"); } } } Part of pause menu code responsible for loading the main menu scene: using UnityEngine.SceneManagement; public class pauseMenu : MonoBehaviour { public static bool gameIs

No it's childed to the canvas, and I'm not getting any error messages. I've done everything Brakeys did in the tutorial up to this point and it just won't work right. [this video]
