Stack Overflow users link it as a worked, follow-along Yesod blog tutorial, both when they get stuck while reproducing it and when pointing newcomers to the forms section.

What it is
A 39-minute screencast in which Maximilian Tagher builds a basic blog from scratch with the Haskell web framework Yesod, using Sublime Text and the scaffolded site. It covers routes, forms and database-backed posts, and is aimed at people with basic web development experience rather than Haskell experts.

They don't apply directly to your question, but since you said you're new, it might be worth checking out the Yesod book chapter on forms [LINK] or the forms portion of this screencast [this video] .

I'm trying to do a very simple app with Yesod (a blog app) following [this video] (I used the scaffolded website) I want to add a simple authentification to secure the access of the creation of an article. Following [LINK] , I added: -- Routes not requiring authentication. isAuthorized (AuthR _) _ = return Authorized isAuthorized FaviconR _ = return Authorized isAuthorized RobotsR _ = return Authorized isAuthorized PublishArticleR _ = isAdmin -- Default to Authorized for now. isAuthorized _ _ = return Authorized My new route is PublishArticleR. The isAdmin function is the same as in the book: isAdmin = do mu <- maybeAuthId return $ case mu of Nothing -> AuthenticationRequired Just "admin" -> Auth

I'm new to yesod and I'm trying to make the same blog project from this screencast: [this video] with the only difference being that I'm using MariaDB instead of PostgreSQL. Every time I add a new blog post and redirect to the page that shows it I see this error: [Error#yesod-core] get BlogPostKey {unBlogPostKey = SqlBackendKey {unSqlBackendKey = 5}}: field article: Not a PersistText value @(yesod-core-1.4.12:Yesod.Core.Class.Yesod ./Yesod/Core/Class/Yesod.hs:577:5) What exactly does that mean? If I look into the database, it has all the posts stored correctly. Why does it fail to load the posts from the database? Here's the code model User ident Text password Text Maybe UniqueUser ident deriving
