What it is

A 2012 Joomla tutorial from the advanjoomla channel showing how to hand-code a simple form and pass its variables into a Joomla article using PHP. It uses the Sourcerer plug-in to embed HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP inside articles instead of relying on a form component like Chronoforms.

After a bit more searching, I realized that what I really needed was an ability to make PHP run inside the article. Thanks to a video [this video] . Answer : Install Sourcerer [LINK] to enable PHP inside joomla articles Create an article which take in the POST variable and insert into the database. This is the tricky part. What I did here was take the general PHP code which I would have written in register_do.php and insert it using the Sourcerer plugin. Now create an menu Item which points to the above article. Save the menu item and copy the alias. This alias will be the action for the form. From here on on, everything must work fine. For more detailed instructions, watch the video [this video]

I am developing online form that would store values and passed them to another article which would display "results". I am using Sourcerer extension to blend simple counting JS script and php for passing variables into article. However, I know very little about Joomla and I do not know where to send variables. action=??? . I found tutorial on You Tube suggesting using article alias for this purpose however it does not work in 2.5. If this is wrong approach towards solving this problem, could you please direct me. <span id="remain"></span> <form action="3.php" method="post" id="form1" name="form1"> <input type="radio" name="group2" value="Value1"> Value 1<br/> <input type="radio" name="group2

I was following this tutorial [this video] to create forms in joomla. for this, I had to download sourcerer (which enable you to place php and html right into your content), but when I installed it, I got this error in joomla extension manager : This extension is no longer supported on Joomla! 3.0.1. Please update to a more recent version of Joomla!: v3.1.0 or higher. I appreciate if someone could tell me how to upgrade joomla 3.0 to 3.1 in ubuntu 12.04. thanks,
