I'm getting undefined method 'image' for nil:NilClass in the index.html.haml page of my app. However on the show.html.haml page the code works fine and the image renders perfectly. I'm following this tutorial [this video] and it works perfectly for him. Check it at 48:16. I've gone through it several times but I still can't figure out what I'm missing. Here is the error: Showing /home/ubuntu/workspace/app/views/pins/index.html.haml where line #2 raised: undefined method `image' for nil:NilClass Extracted source (around line #2): 1 - @pins.each do |pin| 2 = link_to (image_tag @pin.image.url(:medium)), pin 3 %h2= link_to pin.title, pin Here is my code: index.html.haml - @pins.each do |pin| = link_t

I was hoping someone could help me with a rails issue I have come across today. I am trying to teach myself rails, and was using a rails cast that i found online. [this video] I ran into a problem with creating forms. For instance the two groups that i have tried creating, asking for a title and a description are not appearing. Could anybody take a quick look at it for me? Essentially I ran into the problem based off of 14:25 in the video. My code is exactly (at least i believe) written how the author has it, and i am still running into issues. = simple_form_for @pin, html: { multipart: true } do |f| -if @pin.errors.any? #errors %h2 = pluralize(@pin.errors.count, "error") prevented this Pin from

I got inspiered by Makenzie Child video [this video] and github repo [LINK] to create a masonry effect on my rails app. I have a little problem, when I visit the page, the behavior is not the expected one, all the boxes are below each others, and if I reload they take the good behavior... I would like that the good behavior could display when we arrive on the page. I don't know any javascript please dont be mad at me :) this is the progresses.js.coffee $ -> $('#progresses').imagesLoaded -> $('#progresses').masonry itemSelector: '.box' isFitWidth: true application.js //= require jquery //= require bootstrap-sprockets //= require jquery_ujs //= require masonry/jquery.masonry //= require turbolinks

I ran into this problem while doing a pinterest clone in Ruby on Rails ( [this video] ) My application.html.haml file isn't rendering, and it seems the only way to edit the homepage is to add to index.html.haml layouts/_application.html.haml !!! 5 %html %head %title Pin Board = stylesheet_link_tag 'application', media: 'all', 'data-turbolinks-track' => true = javascript_include_tag 'application', 'data-turbolinks-track' => true = csrf_meta_tags %body %nav.navbar.navbar-default .container .navbar-brand= link_to "Pin Board", root_path - if user_signed_in? %ul.nav.navbar-nav.navbar-right %li= link_to "New Pin", new_pin_path %li= link_to "Account", edit_user_registration_path %li= link_to "Sign Out",
