You should post your code, so we can find what is wrong. In the other hand, you should check this tutorial : [this video] I suggest you to check his code and find what differ from yours.

I'm trying to create an app which uses three different tabs. I followed this video tutorial to get started: [this video] I built the app and checked it out on my phone. The three tabs show up and are working properly (I can switch between them). I figured all I needed to do now was to add widgets to the different layouts, so I did that and re-built the app and tried it again. But it looks just the same. I don't see any of the controls I just added. Here's the code: SectionsPageAdapter: public class SectionsPageAdapter extends FragmentPagerAdapter { private final List<Fragment> mFragmentList = new ArrayList<>(); private final List<String> mFragmentTitleList = new ArrayList<>(); public void addFrag

@Chris That wouldn't be the issue. I won't make you watch the 15 minutes of this ( [this video] ) but I followed this and it was working well following the same structure as he points out.

For this, you actually need separate java files that, in the class declaration, extends 'Fragment'. This is a really good youtube video for it: [this video] Hope this helps.

I have a problem with not shwoing up tabs. Its not giving me any error, but it doesnt work I dont know what I'm doing wrong. I would like to have the same functionality like in this tutorial enter link description here [this video] Here is MainActivity: @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); mViewPager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.main_tabPager); setupViewPager(mViewPager); mTabLayout = (TabLayout) findViewById(R.id.main_tabs); mTabLayout.setupWithViewPager(mViewPager); } private void setupViewPager(ViewPager viewPager){ SectionsPagerAdapter adapter = new SectionsPagerAdapter(getSupportFragmentM

I'm creating a project where I need to get 5 tabs to be shown at the front page of my app and navigate through them. I was following this tutorial from this two links and adapting at my way [LINK] and [this video] (adapting this one to Kotlin), but when I compile and run it, it just shows the screen without the tabs, like a blank page. How can I proceed? I really couldn't find the error. This is the Adapter I used class SectionsAdapter(fm: FragmentManager?) : FragmentPagerAdapter(fm) { private val listOfTabs = mutableListOf<Fragment>() private val listOfTabsTitle = mutableListOf<String>() fun addFragment(fragment: Fragment, title: String ) { listOfTabs.add(fragment) listOfTabsTitle.add(title) } o

I didn't find any relevant posts to this problem. I am trying to implement simple tabs (tab layout) with swipe using this tutorial [this video] . However, my fragment is appearing multiple times even when I click for the first time. Please find below the relevant code. Will appreciate any help provided. FragmentPagerAdapter Implementation: public class SectionsPageAdapter extends FragmentPagerAdapter { private final List<Fragment> mFragmentList = new ArrayList<>(); private final List<String> mFragmentTitleList = new ArrayList<>(); public SectionsPageAdapter(FragmentManager manager) { super(manager); } public void addFragment(Fragment fragment, String title) { mFragmentList.add(fragment); mFragmen

I am new to android development and wanted to implement a tab layout in an activity. I looked up a tutorial on YouTube (link: [this video] ). But after following the steps, it didn't work code of activity class: import android.os.Bundle import android.view.View import androidx.appcompat.app.AppCompatActivity import androidx.fragment.app.Fragment import androidx.fragment.app.FragmentPagerAdapter import androidx.viewpager.widget.ViewPager import com.google.android.material.tabs.TabLayout import kotlinx.android.synthetic.main.activity_directory.* class DirectoryActivity : AppCompatActivity() { override fun onCreate(savedInstanceState: Bundle?) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState) setContentView(R.la
