Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it as a ready-made starting point for color-based object tracking in OpenCV, both in answers and as the tutorial they followed before getting stuck.

What it is
A 13-minute screencast by Kyle Hounslow showing a simplified way to track a colored object in a webcam stream using C++, OpenCV 2.4.3 and Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7. The pipeline covers HSV conversion, trackbar-based thresholding, erosion and dilation, and contour detection, with the source file available for download.

I think you should take a look at color tracking and feature detection Here is a great tutorial about color tracking [this video] And a tutorial about feature detection [LINK] Good luck for your project !

This is my first post, so forgive me if I miss something. I have been playing around with OpenCV2 with Visual Studio C++. I have a basic object tracker working. By applying a Gaussian Blur, Converting to HSV, Thresholding with Trackbars, Eroding then Dilating. Now I want to set up some way of easily calibrating the color to be thresholded without using the Trackbars. I've tried setting up an area of interest and taking the average BGR or HSV values (I've tried both ways). Then if needed use trackbars to make finer adjustments, but it does not seem to work. Am I on the right track, or is there a better way? I have basically followed this video to get where I am. [this video] I am not looking for a

I am fairly new to openCV libraries and I am trying to do real time object detection for a school project on an android app. followed this tutorial ( [this video] ) and I am able to detect object by color on my android phone. Now I am trying to map out the trajectory of the object just like in this video ( [LINK] ). Following is some of the source code provided in the first youtube video. void searchForMovement(int& x, int& y, Mat& mRgb1, Mat& threshold){ morphOps(threshold); Mat temp; threshold.copyTo(temp); //these two vectors needed for output of findContours vector< vector<Point> > contours; vector<Vec4i> hierarchy; //find contours of filtered image using openCV findContours function //In Ope

I am using Vuforia SDK [LINK] to do AR stuff on Android. For a project I want to track a ball. But with Vuforia this is not possible. So I tried to use OpenCV color detection to track a ball. I adapt this [this video] solution for my project. For now I can track and calculate center point(in screen coordinates) of the ball with OpenCV. How can I use OpenCV screen coordinates to do OpenGL AR stuff on Android. Where to start?

I am newbie to setting openCV config here. Config visual c++ with open CV [LINK] I am using visual c++ 2013 desk top & open CV beta 3.0 version. I have downloaded the source code from below link. & program is as below. How can i run this program to test. If we check video carefully they are adding debug OPENCV_DEBUG243 files i didnt get but config manually //objectTrackingTutorial.cpp //Written by Kyle Hounslow 2013 //Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software") //, to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distr

I followed this tutorial [LINK] trying to create some OpenCV project. It worked great in Windows and Visual Studio but then I tried to run it in my Ubunto VM using CMake by using the following CmakeLists.txt: cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 2.8) project( TrackObj ) find_package( OpenCV REQUIRED ) add_executable( TrackObj Source.cpp Fruit.cpp Fruit.h) target_link_libraries( TrackObj ${OpenCV_LIBS} ) When I run cmake . it seems like everything is fine: vm@vm-ubuntu:~/Desktop/TrackObj$ cmake . -- The C compiler identification is GNU 4.8.2 -- The CXX compiler identification is GNU 4.8.2 -- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/cc -- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/cc -- works -- Detecting
