What it is

A roughly 11-minute beginner tutorial from Ken Loge on applying an image texture to a plane in Blender 2.61. It walks through loading an image, UV mapping it and getting it to show up on the object.

I am following this tutorial - [this video] (note at the 3:12 mark in the video is where the step I need help is) I need to put a logo onto a trophy I made in Blender. I am following all the way to the point where in the tutorial he says to switch the mapping to UV. But I dont see a "mapping" window like his. I have Image Mapping, but no plain Mapping window. I really need help to get this done. I am on a deadline for a championship football game film. I got the trophy all set, I only need to get it textured and get this logo on there and I can finish.

For the darkness, use this material node setup: [LINK] It will allow you to have a relatively shadeless image. Tweak the selected value to decide how luminescent you want your model to be. As for the UV mapping, this is a complicated subject, but Ken Loge does a good job of going over the basics here [this video] . Also, consider Blender Guru here [LINK] . For what I can say, you will want to have a triangle fan at the top and bottom of your cylindrical design and edge select all of the top edges and one along the side. Then key Ctrl + E and select Mark Seam. Next, press A once or twice until everything is selected. After that, key U and select Unwrap. If you do this correctly, it will give you t

Could you not combine Position: and Rotation: to get the desired effect? I see that you are using the Transform strip, so a rotation such as this is possible. Note how it appears as if it is being rotated around the bottom left corner: [LINK] I did this by using the Transform strip with these settings: [LINK] To determine these settings, I first rotated it to the desired angle. I then moved it so that the left bottom corner was in the original spot; so that it looked like a rotation. Alternately, you could jump out of the VSE to get a more accurate effect. In the 3D Viewport , load your image onto a plane as shown here [this video] . Also align the camera as displayed. Next, from camera view, lef

I have applied a texture to a cube in Blender 2.69 (unable to upgrade at this time) following this guide [this video] . It shows up in texture view, as well as solid, but it will not show up in render. Any ideas?
