I am not sure if you are still having this problem, but like Mahmoud said, EasyBCD is not a third party bootloader at all. It sounds like you might have skipped a step in using easybcd to point the bootloader to the right place where Ubuntu is. First, here is some reading you should skim over: 1. Here [LINK] is a solution regarding the alert you got. Read that first. 2. Here [this video] is a video that shows a walkthrough for using EasyBCD. 3. Here [LINK] is a detailed guide to adding ubuntu to the windows bootloader and setting the two up using EasyBCD. And it has nice screenshots with explanations. 4. Here [LINK] is yet another guide for using EasyBCD. So what you are doing with EasyBCD is add

When I reinstalled my Windows OS, I ran into the same issue. I decided to fix it by using Window's boot manager instead of GRUB, so if you really want GRUB this won't help you, but: Boot into Windows (obviously, you don't have any other choice) and download EasyBCD [LINK] . Watch this video tutorial [this video] that will explain how to use EasyBCD to configure the Windows Boot Manager. In this process, you will add an entry for Windows and an entry for Ubuntu, so when you start your computer you will be prompted to chose one (or boot into Windows by default - you can change all that too). The caveat is that the Ubuntu entry will take you into GRUB, where you will be again prompted to chose an OS

I had the same issue, search for easyBCD , with this tool you can create a dual boot menu in the windows partition of your HDD, unlike windows though it WILL detect your EXT partition ubuntu has been installed on and allow you to boot from that portion of the HDD. [this video] will give you a 2 min tutorial of EASY BCD, though the package is faily staright forward. my PC dual boots between ubuntu 13.10 and vista SP2. though I rarely use vista any more.
