Also note my references to `req.*` (request) above relate to the Express library form of creating your Node / JS endpoints. Explore [LINK] to learn how to setup a Node / JS / Express server. Although you don't need to use Express. Check out Mosh's really good tutorials on Node / JS / etc: [this video]

For this scenario, I suggest you to use a RESTful web service architecture. Basically you need 3 component, RESTful web back end, client application(your electron) and the database service( see the following image ; source:phppot.com) .For this I suggest you to use nodeJS backend and create a webservice using expressJS [LINK] . You can define Restful (GET, POST,UPDATE, DELETE) [LINK] API for each services. For ex: To get some data from your db, you can send a GET request to the following path <yourdomain>:<port>/api/v1/getyoursomthin using your electron app. Your express app process the request and get the relevant data from the data from the database ( Tutorial [LINK] ). So your app can get

I was trying to put another JSON object through Postman in an API that I have built. It was a tutorial from Mosh Hamedani's YT channel [this video] where he was teaching about how to make a API using Node.js, Express and Postman. Throughout the video everything he showed worked pretty good, but only in this section this code is not able to take a POST request in Postman. As soon as I select Body > Raw and send the request after pasting the localhost URL in postman, it is coming up with an error. The whole thing is mentioned underneath. This is the code for the API `const express = require('express'); const app = express(); app.use(express.json()); const courses = [ { id: 1, name: 'courses1'}, { i

req.body returns undefined. Here is my code. const express = require('express'); const app = express(); const courses = [ { id: 1, name: 'course1'}, { id: 2, name: 'course2'}, { id: 3, name: 'course3'}, ]; app.use(express.json()); app.get('/api/courses', (req, res) => { res.send(courses); }); app.post('/api/courses', (req, res) =>{ const course = { id: courses.length + 1, name: req.body.name }; courses.push(course) res.send(course) }); const port = process.env.PORT || 3000 app.listen(port, () => console.log(`Listening on port ${port}...`)) Using postman to post an object, for example { "name" : "newCourse" } will return only id, not returning both the expected id and name. Console.log(course
