What it is
A 25-minute Blender 2.80 tutorial from Wayward Art Company on building a landscape from procedural textures, using displacement and layered materials in Cycles. It walks through the basic node setup for rocks, sand and water on a subdivided plane.

I'm trying out the procedural displacement in 2.8 with Cycles following this [this video] tutorial. The object has 100 subdivisions in addition to a SubSurf modifier, and one material with two shaders separated to form rocks and some water. When rendering with 4 levels of subdivisions, there are these black marks all over the water. [LINK] When I render with only 3 subdivisions, there are fewer artifacts. I can't for the life of me figure out how to use a procedural material I created to create a mesh. I created a landscape based off this tutorial: [this video] I am using the procedural material to mesh generation instructions from a second tutorial and my results are not turning out the same at all: [LINK] My blend file can be downloaded here: [LINK] I see that in the second tutorial, the guy is using a multiply node at the end, but a multiply node was not used in the first tutorial. Please help! What am I doing wrong here? THANK YOU!

I followed this [this video] tutorial awhile back and successfully ended up with this image rendered in cycles. [LINK] Here's what my node setup looks like. [LINK] Recently, I came back to the scene to render it at a higher resolution. I rendered it and got this image out: [LINK] Why did the rock and sand textures turn pink?
Cites Pro Effects MAX · 2021-02 · Blender Stack Exchange · on “How do I create a procedural mask for mountains texture?”
I'm going to try to explain this as well as possible but feel free to ask any questions for clarification. I have mountains and plains (picture below) and I'm trying to create a procedural mask that will differentiate between the mountains and the plains by creating a mask vertically along the "Z" axis to pick at what height you want the mask. You can see an example of what I'm talking about here. [this video] The node setup in that video doesn't work in my instance. How do you achieve this effect? [LINK]
