Why Stack Overflow recommends it

Stack Overflow users link it when answering LWJGL setup problems, such as linking natives in Eclipse, and as a starting point for learning LWJGL.

What it is

A short screencast, the first in a series by Oskar Veerhoek (TheCodingUniverse), showing how to set up an Eclipse workspace for LWJGL 2 so you can write OpenGL games in Java. It assumes basic Java knowledge and links the needed slick-util jar.

I always watch TheCodingUniverse when he releases new tutorials with LWJGL, here's episode 1: [this video] (He has currently released 26 episodes: from basic 2D quads to advanced rendering, sound and loading models)

The applications works fine on my configuration of the LWJGL. Click here for a text tutorial on setting up your LWJGL workspace. [LINK] Click here for a video tutorial on setting up your LWJGL workspace. [this video]

When you moved the java programs, you probably didn't move the files that tell your development program where the natives are. appgc = new AppGameContainer(new Game(gamename)); //<-- This line The UnsatisfiedLinkError was most likely thrown because LWJGL/Slick didn't have the natives required to initialize AppGameContainer. Try linking the natives. Linking natives in Eclipse [this video] Linking natives in Netbeans [LINK]

no problem, It is hard to find good tut's on opengl in java with lwjgl. There is a good series on youtube about lwjgl but not much about how opengl does its stuff [this video]

I'm no professional but I can't stand working with JFrames and Graphics objects. Most of the time I use the lwjgl library. I know this library is for games but It is great for UI's as well. The reason it is so easy is because you simply give buttons their X and Y coordinates without having to worry about layouts. You can make your own images and import them easily, so if you want your button to look like an image you created no problem. Because it is made for games it is also very fast and fluid. This may not be the best way but it works for me so I thought I would share anyway. Hope it helps. Here is the lwjgl website: [LINK] Here is a video series that helped get me started: [this video]

I learned a lot from Oscar from TheCodingUniverce, here's his playlist [this video] . It is in LWJGL 2. I really doubt you'll find any LWJGL 3 tutorials because its still not had a 1.0 release yet, If you're new to LWJGL or Java I strongly recommend not using an untested library.

I've just started learning LWJGL/OpenGL to create a 3D game, so I started small and tried to make a simple display of a line (2D). The window loads up fine, the right size, but nothing on the display is drawn. There is a blank screen and no changes I seem to make to the code affect what is drawn on the screen. This could be because I have a lack of understanding of how to do this correctly or it could be a problem in my code/with my computer. I've tried adding and removing various things to my initialization code such as glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D) and glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D), I have tried calling pushMatrix and popMatrix in the render code and I have tried defining the viewport in the GL11 ini

I have been following this link in order to set up the workspace, named "towerpg" (I wanted to create an RPG game in Java): [this video] I've followed every single step on the YouTube Video, however, I'm getting this error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no lwjgl in java.library.path at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1764) at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:823) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:1044) at org.lwjgl.Sys$1.run(Sys.java:72) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at org.lwjgl.Sys.doLoadLibrary(Sys.java:66) at org.lwjgl.Sys.loadLibrary(Sys.java:96) at org.lwjgl.Sys.<clinit>(Sys.java:117) at org
