What it is
Part 6 of Grant Abbitt's beginner series on baking in Blender 2.8. It shows how to bake the textures of several objects onto a single texture map, also called a texture atlas, in a straightforward step-by-step walkthrough.

Update: finally did find a tutorial on automating the remap, though fair warning baking has its own sets of other issues. second link is same process but for 2.8 interface [LINK] [this video]

As a beginner, i had problems with the solution to find the menus and to understand it. Found this video and it helped me a lot -> [this video]

My only suggestion is you could bake some of these maps to a single texture and apply the same texture to multiple objects. Only issue here is that you would have to UV Unwrap everything , which is a killer task with a scene as dense as this one. If you are interested in the baking process, Grant Abbitt has a pretty straight-forward tutorial [this video] for this.

I am fairly new to blender, and I am trying to bake multiple textures into one so that I can export it to a game engine. I followed tutorials, but I kept running into an issue where one texture would appear, then disappear, then another texture appears, than the first texture reappears, then disappears, and then the bake ends. I created a 3d model with a 3d scanning software called meshroom . When I import the model into blender, the material of the object is divided into many textures (Pic.2). Now I try to combine them all into one. I have to say I never did this before, and so I watched two videos on YouTube. ( [LINK] ) ( [this video] ) I created a second UV map called UV2 and created a node group in all textures with the image texture (called horse_color_bake) I want to bake it on (just a black 1024x1024 image). Then I just clicked on bake after changing the values on diffuse and Color (Pic.3). After I waited for some time, blender just crashes. Before that I get a note which says: " Circular dependency for Image "
