Not an answer, but I recommend watching Imphenzia's tutorials on character rigging, particularly these: [Model and rig characters...][1] [Armature rigging...][2] [Simple Walk Cycle][3] His explanations are straightforward, and I followed several of his tutorials with good results for rigging walk cycles, including the flipped mirror poses. Pay particular attention to the initial rigging and bone rolls, as they are key to the mirror poses working properly. [1]: [LINK] [2]: [this video] [3]: [LINK]

I'm working on animating a teddy bear... Anyway, I've been following this [this video] tutorial and I can't quite get it completely right. The biggest issue I am having is the rotation when trying to pose (in pose mode). The video shows the rotation in relation to the bone pivot point regardless of where the 3D cursor is positioned. However on mine all rotation is done in relation to the 3d cursor and it is making for some very funky movements and difficult to pose. I have to move the 3D cursor and even then it yeilds funny results. Any idea what I am missing? Or perhaps there is a step in the tutorial that has been omitted. I'm fairly new to blender and am having trouble posing my rigged character. I was watching this Video [this video] I thought I got the armature and mesh to connect as the automatic weights edit panel showed up, but for some reason when I go to pose mode and try to move the armature the mesh doesn't move with it. The next step of the video is going into weight paint mode to check all the bones have enough weight and my model is completely blue meaning that the mesh isn't connected at all. I added weight paint to the right spots so the model wasn't completely blue anymore, but the mesh still doesn't move with the bones. I am doing this project on a tight deadline so any help is appreciated. [LINK]
