What it is

A four-minute Blender tutorial by Gleb Alexandrov (Creative Shrimp) showing how to build a wild grass field using particle systems and a few tricks. It is the second video in his grass creation series and accompanies a 3dArtist magazine article.

From what I read, i think your asking about how you can have 2 image textures and just smack them onto the same plane/object for landscaping scenes. Now this is some what my specialty and passion as it is what i do nearly everyday. So for example i will use Grass and dirt(soil) to explain. In the real world, grass needs dirt to survive. So in order to have an effective scene which captures the audience you need to have a base plain with 1 texture, (Dirt) and use a particle system to apply the grass patches where you want. To add more effect instead of using a normal map, use a displacement map to show small details like rocks and particles. And apply your grass. It will give you a great effe

This should fix it, but I suggest watching some tutorials how to create grass in Blender. Usually it's done with hair particles, either by manipulating the hair [LINK] or duplicating mesh grass using the hair particles [this video] [LINK]

So, I posted a little earlier on my project trying to make a grassy field. Well, I'm trying to follow along this youtube tutorial: [this video] Now, I'm stuck on step 5, and I'm not sure if it's because of the changes between 2.69 and 2.79 which I am using, but I can't get the particle texture to invert. No matter how I change the slider, or work with nodes, my particles only post to the same spot they were assigned on the original system. I can't get it to invert like his at 2:34 in the video. [LINK] Above is my current state of work, though I can't seem to make the second type of grass, meant to be dry grass, fill in the spaces where the green isn't. Instead, it just lays itself differently ben

I watched this tutorial [this video] and at 2:18 [this video] he somehow magically managed to get a different color on his second particle via the color ramp. But the color ramp doesn't do anything at all? I'm really confused. How do I change or invert the color of my second particle?

So this is the node setup: [LINK] I have been following the Grass Field tutorial by Gleb Alexandrov, found here: [this video] . But I cant get the grass to look straw yellow and end up making it look red / redish green (by changing the RGB value). I need it to look like this: [LINK] I am open any other solutions as well, I just need it to look photo-realistic. PS: I have used a hair-particle system for the grass field.
