What it is
A start-to-finish Blender tutorial by Polyfjord that covers modeling, rigging with IK, animating and rendering a mechanical walking spider-like creature in under an hour. It includes chapter timestamps for modeling joints and legs, cables from curves, armature setup, walk animation, and lighting and post processing.

If you're just looking for a walking mechanical spider creature with animation, see this [this video] detailed Polyfjord tutorial which should give you some ideas.

I'm having a problem with my first IK rig. I'm trying to rig a creatures leg. I'm following this [this video] tutorial since my rig is close to identical. The problem is that locking the root bones (B_ROOT) IK X axis limits the child bones (B_Shin) rotation. Also locking the IK X axis of the root bone doesn't seem to limit the bones (B_ROOT) X axis rotation at all. Only the IK X axis of the root bone effects the child bone. Locking other axis (Y,Z) doesn't restrict the child bones movement. The end result I'm trying to get to is the restriction of the root bones X and Y axis rotation and the restriction of the child bones Y and Z rotation. Picture one shows Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Following a tutorial like my recent questions, link to that down the bottom. I have come across another problem, this one being when I scale some bones that aren't attached they move instead of going towards the centre. What it should look like: [LINK] What it looks like: [LINK] Now, all of the bones are selected that need to be, and the size thing has gone to the centre and when I press "." and hold it, it shows 3D cursor, which is what I want. I hope I've shown what is wrong here. Tutorial link: [this video] at 33:06 File: [LINK] [LINK]

when assigned to the "walking path", a circle curve, the rigging on the legs doesn't stay put. I am following a video, they are meant to follow the set path remotely from their original position rather than directly by being on the path. In the video they don't move from their original position when the target is chosen in the bone constraint area. I'm new to blender and I don't know what might be causing this to happen. I have added a timestamp for the video when he adds the bone constraint, [this video] [LINK]

I'm learning Armature by following the video [this video] , and when I move the bones, the object flickers. [LINK] Then I played the key frames I had set, the whole view was very strange, and it does not show the movement set as like the above picture. [LINK] When I use Ctrl+Z, the object will instantly deform, but when I press Ctrl+Z again, it will return to its original shape. [LINK] Hope someone can tell me how I can avoid this. Thanks. Below is the archive. Since the original file was over 30MB, I had to delete one leg of it. [LINK]
