Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it

Blender Stack Exchange users cite it as the eyeball tutorial they followed, then link it when they get stuck on subdivision, UV textures, displacement or shader nodes.

What it is

A short 2015 Blender tutorial by César Salcedo, the first in a head-modelling series, showing how to build a realistic eye. It uses a downloadable set of iris, sclera and translucency textures linked in the description, and the presenter apologises for his English.

[LINK] I did a tutorial on modeling a realistic eye: [this video] Unfortunately, I could not adjust the (iris). How to make the eyes of the iris respond to light so that it narrows? Someone who knows and explains deserves great gratitude!

Hello, everybody. In one lesson, I repeated the Realistic Eye [this video] Can't make the influence of the retina on the light? Who knows, tell me a lot of THANKS!

Its entirely possible I'm making it more difficult than it needs to be. I got a great result with your original suggestion. The tutorial that suggested a two object eye is here [this video]

Following eyeball tutorial [this video] When I create a UV sphere and apply subdivision surface it shrinks the sphere slightly. In the tutorial it looks like his subdivided sphere is not shrunk and he can position/edit his sphere to match the reference image precisely. The difference makes it hard to follow what he is doing. [LINK] Everything seems the same, how do I either make my subdiv modifier behave like his or if this is just to do with the display of the sphere make that the same so I can follow his steps?

I followed this tutorial [this video] of how to make a realistic eye. Everything was fine; I saved the file and then went to sleep, the next day... BOOM, the textures were gone, and when I check on the nodes I can see they are there but not showing in the 3d view nor material preview, the same with the UV images editor, and even when I made the process over again (selecting all, unwrapping, editing, bla bla bla), they were still not showing. [LINK] Everything, every image texture has gone, I mean, what happened? I didn't touch it, I just let it the same as I finished.

I am having problems getting displacement mapping to extrude in the correct direction on all sides of a sphere. I have been following this tutorial: [this video] [LINK] UPDATED [LINK]

I'm following this tutorial [this video] on how to make an eyeball, I'm using blender 2.8 but the guy in the video is not, and even though my texture nodes looks exactly like his, my eye looks dried up and his is shiny. I'm not sure where the problem is, but I think it's the nodes. here are mine (top img) vs. his, hopefully someone can help me out. thanks! [LINK] [LINK]
