What it is
A short official tutorial from the Blender Foundation's Blender 2.80 Fundamentals series, produced by Dillon Gu. It walks through the basics of rigging a character: placing an armature, binding the mesh and posing the bones.

The approach is reversed. You need a model first, then an rig/armature to put into the mesh, then bind the mesh to the armature and then pose it. Beside it looks like you posed some bones at the legs in the wrong direction as they point upwards. Start with a basic tutorial to get the basic knowledge: [this video]

It's still there. Make sure you have "rigify" Add-on ON, add the meta-rig (Add > Armature) and then you need to generate the rig. For more info about rigify here [this video] [LINK] [LINK]

Try nice and simple and start with a free character online. To get the absolute basics of rigging down, you can do a really simple example like this one here: Put your character into the scene put an armature over the character. You dont even have to align the bones very well to just get it working. click the character, then click the armature, then click Ctrl + P and click with automatic weights click on the armature and go into pose mode. Then move around bones. The rig should now be working [LINK] After you have successfully done this, I recommend trying the official blender tutorial series on rigging. It is well made and will help you understand the vast amount of errors you are encounte

I have a 3D-human model with initial pose like this: [LINK] I want to rig it then change it to T-pose, by following the [this video] . After I change it to T-pose as below: [LINK] Then I added a cloth wanting to sew them together: [LINK] However, the collision seems erroneous, because the cloth is draping around my initial pose, not the T-pose. I can saw my T-pose model in object mode, but still the initial pose in my edit mode. [LINK] How to make the cloth to be sewed together correctly? (I'm using Blender 2.80, not the latest one). Thanks!

[LINK] Tried Parenting, Rigify, and outright making my own rig from scratch but I can't seem to get this bot to move fluently, Would very much appreciate a point in the right direction! Got the model from open3dlab and get the feeling that all of em are like this and that I'm missing a vital step for it all to click, ya know? Edit: While connection fixed the problem of flying limps, Now they're as stiff as a bored, I can get them to move (at all some times) like this [this video] Appreciate the help, I'm gonna need more of it. Thanks for the tips though unfortunately no dice. The legs seems to be frozen in place now when I'd really like for it to move in this fashion, [this video] Updated the question above with a visual example of what I mean.

I'm trying to rig an armature to a mesh but it's not moving with it in pose mode. I followed the official blender tutorial with no luck. I'm new at Blender, so I'm sure I'm missing something. Tutorial: [this video] File: [LINK]
