Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it
Blender Stack Exchange users link it because beginners get stuck on specific steps of this donut tutorial (snapping, solidify, proportional editing), and answerers cite exact timestamps to show the intended workflow.

What it is
Part 4 of Blender Guru's Blender 3.0 beginner donut series, presented by Andrew Price, covering the modelling of the donut icing. It teaches snapping, the shrinkwrap approach, modifier stacks, proportional editing and extruding drips. The description notes a newer remake exists for Blender 4.0.

so I have just started a blender tutorial with blender Guru on YouTube. I hear he is quite well known in this community. We are making Donuts! The issue I am having is that after applying the subdivision modifier on the icing model(which is hidden in the editing view) the mesh seems to have receded into the body of the donut or it is being partially obscured somehow. Blender Guru himself had this issue in the tutorial however he seemed to be able to correct the problem by selecting individual vertices in the affected areas. I have tried to do the same myself but I cant seem to select any. Selecting vertices on the edge of the affected area doesn't resolve the issue but selecting and pressing

I'm following this tutorial [this video] and, while adjusting the icing to the Donut (3:42m), the instructor says I should enable snapping so that the icing would snap to the face of the donut. I did so as the screenshot below: [LINK] However, when I'm moving a vertex (G), it's totally not snapping, as you can see on this screenshot: [LINK] What am I doing wrong?

Two things in your video: Did you turn off the Cage option on the Solidify modifier so that you could see what you are doing ( [this video] ) and did you turn on the Project Individual Elements on the Snapping menu ( [this video] )? The links point to the times in the video where it is explained. You are using version 3.6.5 so you need to select 'Face Nearest' on the Snapping menu as he explains in the first comment below the video..

@RumenBelev I think I've covered all the issues that the questioner has, including the Blender version number difference between his one and the one Andrew was using in his tutorial. For what it's worth, the link to it is here [this video] .

I'm following Blender Guru's donut tutorial, and I'm stuck at the part where you use extrude to create dribbles: [this video] I added a subsurf modifier before trying to extrude. If I add another subsurf modifier, it doesn't fix the problem. Proportional editing was on before I hit E. My dribbles are still square shaped. When I left-click to finish extruding, in the "Extrude Region and Move" pop-up that appears at the bottom of the screen, the "Proportional Editing" box is unchecked, but it's still toggled on in the toolbar at the top of the screen. If I check the box, the dribble becomes rounded, but the new face collapses. I feel like I must be doing something wrong, because it didn't look like

I've tried looking up this issue and mainly come across this result [LINK] , which doesn't resolve my issue as my overlays are turned on. I was following this tutorial on YouTube by Blender Guru [this video] , until I decided to take a break, save the file, close it, and reopen it, and now this issue occurred. Basically, I'm only able to see some of the vertices of the donut icing in edit mode, and would like to see all of them when I select the icing, to have more flexibility when editing it. In the Youtube video, as well I think before I closed and reopened it, all the vertices of the selected object seem to be visible in edit mode. However, I'm unable too see them all. Any help to see the vert

I'm just starting out with blender and currently doing the "Donut" tutorial. It was recommended since it encompasses many aspects of modeling and is great for beginners. In this tutorial [this video] @5:49, he gets into showing how to split the screen. Well I messed up at some point and had windows everywhere. I fixed it, but in the process accidently pushed out my modifier and scene selection windows. I've tried looking online and saw someone with somewhat of a similar problem where the solution was to press F9 but unfortunately it does nothing. Any suggestions? [LINK]

I've been following blenderguru's tutorial on Blender 3.0, and I've gotten to part 4 (video link [this video] ). At around 10:00, he is talking about using the 'g' key to stretch the mesh (I've tried following every exact movement he makes), but when I use the 'g' key, it selects multiple sides of the icing. [LINK] How can this problem be avoided?

It's working exactly as it should do. Set the offset to 1 and the thickness to 0.0015. As @moonboots has described Andrew turns off the modifier display at 1:05 [this video] in part 4 allowing you to see the vertices. The only thing that you haven't done in your blend file is drag the solidify modifier above the subdiv one but that won't affect the vertices.
