@anon on the 4:54 he applies the Mirror modifier [this video] , pretty much what is stated in the answer above. Though if going mirrorred sculpting use Symmetry/Lock in brush settings, just as he does as well. I updated the answer.

I've been following a tutorial by Daniel Kreuter on Youtube ( [this video] ), modelling a body using a mirrored surface. I thought I had followed his actions fairly accurately, but I'm getting a weird seam on the mirrored plane in my model when I apply a multiresolution subdivide. Oddly enough, it doesn't appear when I use the subdivision surface modifier. I'm not really sure where to start looking for problems. This question [LINK] has an "answer" which seams (see what I did there?) to have the same problem I'm having, with no solution. This forum post [LINK] looks like they have the same problem. One of their suggestions is to move the mirror modifier above the subdivide, as the modifiers are a

I appreciate the reply, but even after looking into the X-Mirror that was linked in the post I'm unable to find a button for X-Mirror. I am actually following a tutorial online and they were able to do this. I'm unsure why I'm unable to. Here is the tutorial: [this video] Would you not recommend that I not watch this tutorial? This was the only one I could find on how to make a full character from scratch. Multiresolution and mirror worked for him, so I'm unsure why it doesn't for me.

Sorry if I phrase this incorrectly but I was following a tutorial for a character model (the link should be below, end of part 4 and beginning of part 5) and I don't understand how he got the body to look so smooth. I tried applying the subdivision surface modifier but it only made my object look flatter, like this: [LINK] It originally looks like this in sculpt mode: [LINK] And like this in Object Mode: [LINK] I want it to look smooth and not so blocky like in the tutorial: [LINK] [this video] Thank you for your help P.S.: Sorry if I added too many pictures to get my point across. Also, I am a novice at Blender, and yes, I know, even without the blockiness of my character's body, it doesn't look

So I am creating a model in blender 2.8 from this tutorial [this video] (in 2.7) and I just got to the part where he adds a multiresolution modifier to the model. When he adds the subdivisions, his model is smooth but mine has little bumps and a crease around the waist. (Picture 1) [LINK] When I subdivide further these bumps are more pronounced. After experimenting it looks like these vertices around this one loop are not moving at all when subdividing as if they're locked into place. I found this out by moving one of these vertices in edit mode (Picture 2) which changed the model drastically while other vertices would change the model only a little. (picture 3) [LINK] [LINK] I already deleted th
